The fire hydrant is a simple object, yet it includes one triangle as the top and were the hose connects is the circle.
These are mailboxes for students at the University of Tampa. The dial is the circle and the entire box is the shape of a square.
This is Rescom, a dorm hall at the University of Tampa. The design of the building includes all three shapes, the top is a triangle, a circle detail in the middle, and the windows are square shaped.
This picture of Mickey Mouse and I was taken in January 2014. Mickey's face and two ears make a total of three circles and his magic hat is a perfect triangle shape.
This is my Art of Seeing project that I did with Wendy French and Andrea Diaz Yanes.

Guinness World Record Project
The record I did this project on is Misao Okawa's 116th birthday. She is the oldest living person.
Represented is a birthday cake with the number candles, but the candles are represented by the three ages of humanity: child, adult, and senior citizen.

“5, 6, 7, 8 DANCE!”
The
first point of view for this piece is what the audience sees on stage, a
dancer. In the gleaming lights they can
view and define the figure of the dancer’s body and her facial expression. The second point of view is what the dancer
views from the stage. The dancer cannot
see as much because the stage lights blur out most of audience. There is a
reason why they use such bright lights so the dancers cannot see the
viewers. They do not want them to be
nervous if they see someone in the audience that they know, so the lights make
the dancer’s vision fuzzy.
Time for an Exam
For our second project, the idea is based on an
eye exam at the doctor’s office. In the
image, we are representing two ideas.
Someone has the eye machine right up to their face and they are
attempting to read the eye chart to check their vision. The one side is blurry vision, while the
other side is crystal clear. This
picture represents the fact that one person can have two perspectives; one is perfect
while the other is hazy.
Ranking for Perspective Projects
-
Frank and Tara- picture of a sandwich looking at the person, person looking at the sandwich, and someone walking by and looking at the person and sandwich from the same angle- it is a great idea because there are three perspectives that are all connected with each other and well organized, conceptually an idea that I never would have thought of.
- Jeslin and Berkley- picture of the view someone has of being kidnapped and put inside the trunk of a car- I like that the picture is at a tilt angle and that there is a bright light on the one side of the picture so it is the last glimpse of light for the kidnapped person.
- Stevie and Megan- picture of the view of a male with flowers outside of a door of a girl, but there is also a text message stating that she believes it is not working it out with her boyfriend (the male with the flowers). The project seemed a bit choppy and I did not understand the concept of it until they explained it to me.
- Ben and Spencer- picture of the cake’s perspective of the baker- it is an interesting idea of an inanimate object and something I would usually not think about.
- Wendy and Elizabeth- picture of what a cigarette sees (the smoker blowing out smoke) - conceptually it is a tricky and smart idea, definitely a perspective I never would have thought of doing.
- Peter and Andrea- picture of the cook’s view of the Pandinis line- clear photo with bright colors; I understand that they could not go directly behind the counter for different reasons, but they still conveyed the idea strongly through the image.
- Kofi and Liz- picture of what it feels like to be trippy (wonder world) - it is not a strong concept to me, the rainbow design pattern is really cool looking, but it seems they are making a connection with drugs and what it is like to be high.
- Michael, Dominic, and Connor- picture of the point of view of what the goalie sees during a soccer game- not very creative, I feel like it did not take a lot of time or effort, I cannot tell that this is the goalie’s point of view, it could have been taken by anyone
- Alex and Erin- picture of the point of view of a student studying at the library- a very straight forward image with not much detail.

Process
In our first meeting we
began to brainstorm ideas for what we wanted to do in our group of five. We came up with the idea of using the five
senses as an aspect for our project. Jennifer is sight, Micaela is smell, Jeslin
is sound, Stevie is taste, and Orlando is touch. We decided to have our five senses focus on a
cup of tea. All five of us went to Oxford Exchange on our own time, and the
restaurant which is across the street from the University of Tampa campus. We each ordered a cup of tea and observed what
we needed to in order to complete our individual part of the project.
Synopsis
Jennifer McElroy: I show life and death by placing three photos
in a row of the cup of tea full, half full, and empty. I use lighting to also
present the theme of life and death. The
bright light used in the top picture of the full cup of tea presents that life
is bright and full when we are first young and learning. The middle picture is when the cup is half
full and the light is a bit dimmer, this symbolizes when we are middle aged and
half of our life is already over. The bottom
picture is an empty cup of tea and there is not much lighting. This represents that the end of our life
brings us our darkest and scariest moment, death.
Orlando Rivera: I represented touch with the 50 things to notice. In the first picture I use a gentle touch and sort of a bright lighting to basically show as if it were day time and that the tea is still a little hot which doesn't allow me to follow grip the cup as you can also see the yea still bubbling from it's hear. On the second picture I made it a little bit darker to make it seem as it if it were night time so the tea a little cooler and allows me to fully grip the cup and as you can see the tea is a lot calmer and no longer bubbling.
Micaela Figueroa: We wanted to show the point of view of a cup of steaming hot tea and decided to add the smoke and the individual consuming the delicious beverage. Also, the flowers in the air is a metaphor for the aroma of the cup of London Fog Tea at Oxford exchange.
Stevie Ruzich: The musical notes as the steam of the tea symbolize the emotional correlation between two seemingly unrelated activities. For many people, drinking tea and listening to music are de-stressors. Incorporating flowers into the cup juxtaposes the refreshing nature of drinking the tea (e.g. the stimulation) against the calming effect of it (e.g. the relaxation).

Jeslin Ritz: People always like to see what they are hearing, but I feel that takes away from the actual audio because we focus on what we see instead of what we hear. That why I chose to give an example of sound with a blind audio of oxford exchange. In the audio, the listener can hear all of the sounds of the oxford exchange such as people chatting, servers serving and clearing tables, people sipping their tea and coffee, and most prominently the sound of my coffee being stirred.
